I'm Manuel (also known as manzan), a Software and Data Engineer specialized in Python development.
I'm currently on a sabbatical year, traveling and gathering new experiences - though that's a story for another blog post.
👨🏼💻 Previously, I worked at Millennium in energy trading, where I developed quant tools and built a greenfield data platform. My work spanned backend development, frontend dashboards, automated reporting, ETL pipelines, web scraping, and CI/CD, including scheduling and monitoring systems. Before that, I was at Lyst, a fashion tech company, working as a tech lead in technical SEO. There, we built Python microservices, client libraries, data pipelines, webhook listeners, internal dashboards, and content moderation tools, as well as features for the global Lyst platform.
🎓 Education-wise, I completed my Master’s in Computer Science at 🇬🇧 Imperial College London. I also hold a Bachelor's in International Business from 🇳🇱 Maastricht University and 🇭🇰 The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Originally from near 🇩🇪 Cologne, I've also worked in Berlin and Munich.
